The intention of Orion Data is to “find a pattern in the data” so that our clients can find their path or direction for decision-making.
Orion Data was formed to combine and utilise our many and varied data analysis skills for companies, institutions or individuals in need of these skills on an occasional, part-time or ad hoc basis.
The name Orion Data was inspired by the Orion constellation, which is one of the brightest and best-known constellations in the night sky, lying on the celestial equator. The pattern of the constellation has been used since ancient times to find direction.
The intention of Orion Data is to “find a pattern in the data” so that the client can find their path or direction for decision-making.
Orion Data undertakes to always treat client data confidentially.
Orion Data (Pty) Ltd was registered as a company in July 2018 and operates from Cape Town, South Africa. The company registration number is 2018/383471/07.
About
Tess Cartmill
After a lifetime in Information Systems, mainly in business, I decided to do something completely different and completed my Master’s degree (ICTs in Education). There I was introduced to the concept of Open Educational Resources (OER) and the use of OER became the subject of my dissertation. On completion of my M Phil, I became the project manager, and data analyst, for the Research on OER for Development (ROER4D) project hosted by UCT. This project ran for 5 years and on its completion I decided to combine my IT and research data skills to offer a data analysis service.
